Windscreen cameras: checks before replacement

A camera near the interior mirror may serve driver-assistance systems. Glass, its optical zone, the mount and manufacturer-specified setup all matter.

Checks, step by step

  1. Photograph the mirror area inside and outside. List known camera, rain-sensor, HUD and heating functions. Sharing a housing does not make a rain sensor a camera.

  2. Match glass by vehicle version and marking, not outline alone. Apertures and mounts must suit the equipment. Do not assume every component can be transferred to a basic screen.

  3. Ask the installer about calibration required by the vehicle documentation and post-replacement checks. KRONIS does not claim to provide calibration unless separately agreed. Confirm procedure and cost with the workshop performing it.
