01Can a smart lock be installed on any door?
No. The material, thickness, profile, existing tie-in, gaps and purpose of the door are important. Sometimes it is safer to replace the cylinder or choose an overhead solution than to redo the canvas.
02How do I open the lock if the battery is dead?
The model must have a reserve: an external power contact, a mechanical key, or another method. We physically check it upon delivery, rather than relying on the instruction manual.
03Does the lock work without internet?
The main local methods — code, card, fingerprint, or key — usually work without the Internet. Remote control and notifications depend on the gateway and connectivity.
04Can I give temporary access?
Yes, if the model supports single-use or time-limited codes and rights. For personnel, it is better to use separate identifiers rather than a common family code.
05How secure is a fingerprint?
This is a convenient access method, but overall security also depends on the door mechanics, lock quality, backup methods, and administrator control. Biometrics do not compensate for a weak door.
06Who will remain the administrator after installation?
Owner. When handing over, transfer the main access, delete test accounts, demonstrate adding and revoking users, and record the backup login method.
