No. You can start with the risk that is most expensive for you — for example, leaks — and lay out the architecture for cameras, locks, gates, and backup in advance. We plan the stages so that the next stage does not require redoing what is already installed.
We design critical local scenarios without necessarily depending on the cloud: the sensor must transmit an alarm to the controller, and the actuator must execute the command inside the facility. Without the Internet, remote notification or viewing may temporarily disappear, so we are discussing a backup communication channel separately.
Before selecting equipment, determine which devices must continue to operate: controller, communication, cameras, intercom, sensors, or valve actuator. Then calculate the reserve by power and required time, rather than choosing a battery at random.
Often possible, if the equipment has appropriate interfaces and is operational. During inspection, we check models, power supply, network, protocols, access to accounting data, and integration security. Things that cannot be reliably combined are honestly separated from the new system.
We separate the rights of the owner, family, and servicing specialist, change factory passwords, enable available multifactor protection means, document accounts, and eliminate permanent remote access for the installer when not necessary.
